The AMT Foundation was established to advance science, engineering, and education through thoughtful support of innovative and interdisciplinary work. Founded by Dr. Ping Luo, a materials scientist with international academic and industrial experience, the Foundation reflects a lifelong commitment to translating research into practical applications that benefit society.

The Foundation also honors the legacy of Dr. Franz Krispel, a medical physicist and oncology innovator whose work in precision radiation therapy and stereotactic treatment systems advanced cancer care technologies. Together, their combined backgrounds in materials science, biomedical engineering, and medical device development shape the Foundation’s dedication to responsible innovation, education, and long-term impact.

Since its establishment, the AMT Foundation has supported initiatives across education, science, and the arts. Past activities have included sponsorship of aircraft and aerospace education programs that promote STEM learning and aviation history awareness, as well as support for ceramic arts education and cultural programs that foster craftsmanship and creative expression.

The Foundation has also contributed to biomedical and materials research initiatives, particularly in advanced biomaterials and medical device development. More recently, AMT Foundation has expanded its focus to include exploration of environmental material technologies aimed at addressing long-term sustainability and remediation challenges. See Current Initiatives page for more details.

Through these efforts, the Foundation continues to bridge scientific research, practical engineering, and community enrichment.
